Sensory / Inclusive Show

Social Story – For download

Camden Musical Society’s inclusive production of Seussical the Musical on Sunday 14th March offers the following modifications which have been designed in consultation with MDS:

Pre Show:

• When you book your tickets, where possible please advise us of any specific accessibility requirements e.g. wheelchair user

• If you have a Companion Card, tickets are complementary however a booking fee applies

• A social story will be published on our website before the show showing pictures of the venue, theatre, seating, cast in their costumes, bathrooms etc. so you know what to expect when you arrive.

At the theatre:

• The venue is wheelchair friendly with ramp access and wide doorways

• Doors will open 30mins before the show to allow audience to settle and familiarise with the theatre

• Patrons have the option of being ushered to their seats by members of the cast in costume, but not ‘in character’

• Chairs will be available at the back of the theatre for those who would prefer not to sit in their allocated seat

• An easy read version of the program will be available

During the performance:

• House lights will remain dimmed rather than off

• Lighting and sound will be reduced

• Costumes during ‘scary’ scenes will be modified

• If electronic devices such as tablets are required to support communication, they can remain on during the show

• If you would like to use sensory supports such as weighted blankets, fidget tools or ear plugs, they are welcome

• If you need to take a break during the performance, ushers will be on hand to open theatre doors to the lobby where you will have access to a quiet space
